Privacy policy

Effective 20 October 2026. What IELTS A collects, why, who handles it and the choices you have.

Who is responsible

POWER DIGITAL SOLUTIONS AUSTRALIA runs IELTS A and is responsible for your personal data. Contact: support@ieltsa.org.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address and a hashed password, plus your study settings (module, target band, exam date).
  • Practice data: your answers, Writing submissions, Speaking recordings, scores, feedback and attempt history.
  • LIVE examiner sessions: the audio you speak and the text of the conversation, used to run the session and produce your report.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive your plan, subscription status and renewal date, and a Stripe customer reference. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) and a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers on the site at the time of writing.

How we use it

To provide the service and your results; to run subscriptions and prevent fraud; to keep the service secure and fix problems; and to answer your messages. Our legal bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and securing the service, and, where required, your consent.

Who processes it on our behalf

  • AI providers (for automatic scoring, transcription of Speaking recordings, LIVE examiner conversations and generating examiner voice audio): Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and ElevenLabs. Your content is sent to them only to perform that task, and we do not allow it to be used to advertise to you.
  • Stripe, for payments and billing portal.
  • Our hosting provider, in Singapore, where the service and database run.

We do not sell your personal data. Your data may be processed in countries other than yours, including the United States, Australia and Singapore; where required we rely on appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and practice history while your account is open. If you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except what we must keep for tax, accounting or legal reasons (such as payment records, usually up to 7 years).

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, to restrict or object to some processing, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email support@ieltsa.org from your account email. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Cancelling PRO does not delete your data.

Children

IELTS A is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Connections use HTTPS, passwords are hashed and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at once if you suspect a problem with your account.

Changes

If we change this policy in a material way we will say so on the site or by email. The effective date is at the top.
